Lovells Pond
I hit Lovells the other day in search of some quality LM. This pond has a HUGE alge bloom going on and the water looked pea green. I figured this would put the fish up tight and I was right. The pond is ringed with some great bushes. I got a total of 10 bass in the 2-3lb range skipping jigs in the bushes. If there was a fish there it was super aggresive. 3/4's of the time I would have a fish on before I coule even engage the reel. I came up to this one dock and I see what looks like a cross member under the dock in the water. I make that my target, skip the jig and to my suprise the "crossmember" swam off. This cross member ended up being a HUGE bass just sitting suspended under the dock. It did not even sniff my jig. man I wish that fish bit!!
I thought for sure when they put the airaters in last year that it would change the intensity of the algae. I was at Lovells about 5 weeks ago and the water was pretty clear visibility to about 4 feet the bass were holding tight that day as well, caught about 15 that day. Great overall pond. I hear tales of a sunken boat in there I'm still yet to find it
Seen a lot of that Pea green water around Pembroke, Furnace has it, and Oldham is still shut down due to algae bloom....I'm hoping it will be on fire when it reopens!!
