Lawrence Pond is a 138 acre natural kettlehole pond with an average depth of 15 feet and a maximum depth of 27 feet. Transparency is very good, extending to 16 feet, and aquatic vegetation is scarce. The bottom is composed of sand and gravel. The ponds 2.1 miles of shoreline is moderately developed with houses and two summer youth camps. Lawrence Pond is located about 2 miles south of the junction of Route 6 and Chase Road. Access is provided by a right-of-way off of Great Hill Road at the southeastern corner of the pond. Canoes and cartop boats can be launched here. The solid bottom is also excellent for wading. With no formal parking lot available, anglers must park along the shoulder of the road. Fish Populations: largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, yellow perch, brown bullhead, pumpkinseed and killifish. Small yellow perch (4 to 5 inches) were the most abundant fish in the pond at that time.
