Pond in Metrowest Fishing Report

I'm So Good It Scares Me LOL!

Chuck and I had plans to fish a smaller pond in the Metrowest are on Sunday. We figured we would do half a day there and depending on the fishing maybe finish the day at Boone.

It didn't take long for Chuck to get things going on his 3/8 ounce spinner bait as he landing 3 bass in about 5 minutes. I switched from an 1/8 ounce jig to a golden shinner colored 3-5ft crank bait. During my next 6-8 casts I landed 4 bass, all around 10 inches but still great to get the juices going. Chuck landed a couple more in his next few casts and then I hooked up on the crank bait again on my next three casts and arrogantly said to him jokingly, "I'm so good it scares me." We talked s*** for a few more minutes at each other until he hooked up with the first big fish of the day...a nice football shaped bass, just under 4 lbs. We had a bunch of laughs and ended up catching over 80 fish. Chuck landed over 2 dozen on the spinner bait including a nice 3lb 13 oz Larry, he had a few on crank baits and a few on a jerkbait. The biggest surprise was that neither of us hooked on the jig. Chuck did have a monster strike that bent his rod in half but the big girl got off a few seconds after the set. I caught all but one of my 50 or so fish on the shallow running crank bait. Big fish of the day was 4 lbs 6 oz's and I added another good one that came in at 3 lbs 9 oz's. We stayed from 9:00am - 4:30pm at the small pond and for those that were out yesterday know that it was a windy and brisk day. I'm very glad we had the anchor! My hands still smell like fish despite having taken two showers since the outing! Great day out on the water Chuck!
