Got some time on break from work, few ponds with <10min drive around me, so I picked one I hadn't been to in a while, and I had some luck.

Don't usually put fish down on rocks or ground due in order to avoid messing with their slime coat, but I needed some sense of scale and didn't want it covered in sand.

Another pic with my cheesing face:

Was release quickly and swam away fine.

Smaller guy:

Both caught within 10 minutes of one another on a 5" Yamasenko black with red flake on a 3/0 VNC widegap fastgrip hook, Texas-rigged weightless. Gear was a Shimano Sienna 2500 rear drag spinning reel with 30lb Suffix 832 green braid, and an Abu Garcia Vengence 7' med spinning rod (love this setup). Fished slowly from shore around pads and drop-off.

That's a picture worthy fish, most definitely.

If I could fish at lunch time, I don't think I would go back to work, so it's probably a good thing. Nice fish though.
