looking to buy or possibly trade one of my reels for a skeet reese victory 701 if anyone has one that they don't want. I need a faster reel for my buzzbait rod, my 6.2-1 ardent xs just isn't cutting it anymore

I believe there was a recent post about these reels being on sale for $50-60?? Maybe another MAFF member can shed some light...

I bought one off ebay a few months ago. It's crap. Drag sucks. Tension knob does nothing. I emailed wright and mcgill to tell them my problem. They sent me new parts for free. Still doesn't work right. I may have got a defect but I went against my better judgement and ignored all the bad reviews it got. I use a BPS pro qualifier 7.0:1 I think to buzz.

I got a brand new skeet reese victory 621 reel off of ebay and I love it, great casting distance, drag works great, first day out I caught a 5-3 with it, and it handled itself flawlessly, I just need something faster to use my buzzbaits over the muck i'm buzzing over at the pond I go to

yeah i cant speak from personal experiance as ive only ever known one guy that had one and he hated it lol . i cast his reel a handful of times and i didnt quite hate it but it was enough useage to make me not wanna buy it. the large paddle and grips feel nice in my hand but it feels pretty chincey overall to me and any site yougo to has nothing but horrible reviews give or take one good one posted buy a guy who used it as his first casting reel and had nothing better to compare it to. if you like yours than more power to ya but id beware, thousqands of bad reviews on one product im sure has to mean something

well I got my hands on a Skeet Reese victory 701 baitcaster(thanks Shawn!!!) took the knob assembly apart, and all the guts fell out, the click adjustment assembly, the bearing, the bearing retainer spring, slapped it all back together, oiled up all the bearings, and took it fishing with me over the weekend, and it worked flawlessly, the spool knob worked perfectly, the drag was setable, casted great, had fantastic take up speed, didn't have one backlash. I keep reading and hearing about all these crappy reviews thaty the reel gets, but the 2 I now own work great. I'm debating on selling my bass pro shops Rick Clunn 6.3-1 lefthanded 8 bearing baitcaster. I probably shouldn't because it was a christmas gift from my wife before she was my wife, but one of my spinning rods broke over the weekend and I want to replace it with a Skeet Reese wright&McGill Tessera shakey head/senko spinning rod.

lol id also beware of the rods, again i cant speak from experiance but 99.99999% of the reivews of read all say the same thing... the tip breaks off about a foot down the rod on hooksets, ive picked em up in the store and they have a nice feel to em in the hand but all the reviews point to a weak tip that just dosent like to stay attached to the rest of the rod. buyer beware lol.

I own and use 3 every weekend, the most sensitive rods I've ever used, had them for over a year and they've caught some 4's and 5+'s, had some hard fighting bass pull those rods practically under the boat and I've NEVER had the tips break on ANY of them, great hooksetting power, I'll never buy another companies fishing rods except for Wright&McGill Skeet Reese models
