Might be launching out of Waltham on the Charles on Friday. Anyone ever caught smallies up in that part of the river before?

Bobby, VERY few in that section. If you do down to the dam though, just on the other side they are much more plentiful, Cant get a boat in there though that I know of\

Thanks, I didnt think so. I have caught few small ones out in Watertown and Brighton but nothing further up.

Trying to figure out a back up plan close to home for Friday in case I cant borrow my buddies truck to move the boat to our favorite spot.

there are smallies in the brighton section down to the city. with a few big ones mixed in. i've seen 3 pounders pulled out. waltham stretch is great for big largemouth. frog and punch this time of year. there's some good shoreline brush as well for texas rigs, jigs etc.

Yeah Ive pulled a few out that are around a pound nothing bigger though.

Upper Mystic is a thought. We werent necessarily looking for a spot with Smallies just the added bonus of them.

Yeah that place can a nightmare if it the bite is slow.

I think we might do the Charles Waltham stretch. All we really wanted to do was punch and throw jigs

Weird, but we hit up the Waltham section last night. Around 4. My buddy caught a 2 lb smallie off a lay down. Couldn't believe it! Flipping a tube in shallow water. Crazy

Lots of good fish in that end of the charles if you are will to put the time in. I know of a secret wall just a short ride from ramp.
Twin coves right now has the big machines in there right now removeing pads stay a way from there.

Why would they want to remove the lily pads?

I haven't been to the old home base in years. Maybe it's in excuse to go have a look around the old home base and hope to not run into any townies I used to know. Smile

That sucks we were planning an entire day from the launch down to 95/90 and back. That could take away some serious real estate to fish
