I will be hitting lake massapoag for smallies on friday but where should i look for them like in deep water or on shallow docks....just like where should i look for them....the lake is rocky with sparse veggatation and is shallow along shores but then gets deeper..there are some drop offs dont know the depth of drop offs tho...so yea where should i look for these smallies?!?
I never been there..but I would start throwing a zara spook or popper near the rocks..if wind is blowing fish that side of lake/pond if you can...if no hits on top, start throwing spinnerbait and burn it over and near rocks...if no luck, put a green pumpkin tube or spider jib on and drag and hop the bottom near the rocks,dropoffs etc..try the weeds as well..this is just simple process of elimination
