Unfortunately I am moving to the desert. My wife who is from Az thinks we need to move to the desert to help support her parents. Don't get me wrong I love my inlaws and want the best for them. Both are unemployed and have been sick for a few years. I'm 28 and still have my health so a lot of the pressure will be on my shoulders ....
But what I was getting at is where we will be living is between lake mead and lake havasu . I was curious if any one here has ever been to or has any knowledge on fishing. Out there. I hear the freshwater striped bass fishing is good in these lakes. I have zero experience fishing freshwater stripers and I'm curious if they act in any way like our stripers ..
Also I would like to know how big the large mouths get out there I know lake mead has a good fisherie but how good? I've always lived in mass and I'm so used to bieng able to catch fish anywhere..
Main question can I survive away from my home water...
Any information will be extremely appreciated thank you guys

That's how most of the other "fishfinder.com" sites look. Recipe after recipe after recipe. Like Shawn said, you're gonna have to make it your own and show those fishermen how we do it, MAFishfinder style! Good like and remember, it's a "Dry" heat Very Happy .

I grew up in AZ (Phoenix to be specific). I also grew up fishing. Mostly for channel cats.

I can't speak about the stripper fishing, but my dad and I fished the Colorado River in the Bullhead City, Lake Havasu and Parker areas (he drove a sales/delivery route around AZ and we always had gear in his work truck).

I remember the fishing as being good. We'd catch big cats and the occasional largemouth (we weren't targeting them, but they'd hit the bait on occasion.) We used primarily live water dogs, minnows/shiners and sometime feeder goldfish.

AZ is far from a fishing wasteland. I would check out AZ Game and Fish (http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/fishing.shtml).

Hell, I miss it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot ill be sure to check into it and as far as catfish go never targeted them around mainly due to the fact most areas hold bullheads and they don't get very large.. I have a fealing if I wanna catch big fish that going to be the way to go.. its all going to be a learning curve kinda excited its like starting all over thanks again guys for everything. And ill be sure to keep everyone posted of my adventures in a foreign land.

Check out some Fishing with Johnny Johnson shows. All his shows are from different lakes in Arizona. I think I get on Fox Sports Arizona, but you can check out some of his episodes are his website.

WARNING! He has the worst laugh in fishing history. But not a bad show, he is kind of goofy.
