People that live on Assawompsett are allowed to fish out of a boat with a TM. It is a weird place, it is open for fishing, yet it is not. You pretty much are limited to fishing from the causeway, which is around 2ft. deep on both sides 
Well not only a trolling motor, If you own a parcel of land you are allowed to register a boat with a gas motor. The rules changed recently to only four stroke engines under 10 hp. Only the owner of the property may register the boat and motor with the city of taunton as well as a state reg. When you register, the boat and motor are inspected and a decal is placed on both and are given matching numbers. The pond is not patroled on water, only by binocs from land and a few folks from shore with nothing better to do..... Hope that is helpful
