Has anyone fished candlewood lakes in ct ?

Yes, many years ago. One of my all-time favorite lakes to fish. My wifes nephew and his bro-in-law want me to come down there to fish w/them. They've never gone. It is in the planning stage.

from what ive heard that place is supposed to be wicked good with lots of numbers and plenty of big fish

I fished Candlewood a few years ago. The lake is loaded with big fish, and small ones too. There are many weed patches around the whole lake. I have found that there are what seemed at the time, that we caught more fish on the inside weed-line than the outside. And it didn't happen only one time..Give it a shot.......Tubes are a great bait on this lake. If the water is warm, throw a Carolina lizard in the deeper water just outside the weed edge
