with hard plugs and single hooks...your gonna miss alot of fish!! Its one thing for a single hook to be used with jig or within a soft worm that basically collapses as the hook is set.....but maybe someone who catches tones of fish can do a nice experiment.

I crimp down most of my barbs. It certainly makes life easier when unhooking fish and causes much less damage to the fish. I am not a big fan of trebles but with some lures you have no choice if you want them to run right. Yeah, you will lose some fish with crimped barbs, especially when they jump, but if you keep steady pressure most fish will make it to the boat
