Has anyone else heard this superstition about never eating a banana the morning of a fishing trip and u should never bring a banana on a fishing boat? We have had this rule on my boats since i can remember but never really knew the reasoning behind this superstition. Anybody rlse heard this or know the reasoning this has come about? (bored winter talk)
I have heard of it but I pretty much live on a boat 1/2 the year and we always have bananas, so we pretty much ignore that superstition. Also when I go fishing they are usually my snack of choice, but maybe that's why I have had a couple sketchy moments on boats.
Haha a friend of mine, my old math teacher runs a charter business and is a huge name in Mass striper fishing (Bill Smith "Draggin Fly 2")and he bring me out a couple times a yr. he is bad with it you cant even have like a banana nut muffin or banana bread on his boat he has a sticker with a banana and a line through it on his console
thats a rule on my boat. one day i was fishing with a buddy and nothin was bitin and i turned around and saw em eating a banana so i took it and threw it in the water and all of a sudden the fish turned on
