Does anyone know of any good spots for Broodstock?

The Mass Wildlife website hasn't been updated in a year:

The same lakes/ponds that are listed are stocked every year. Usually around Thanksgiving. Pick one and go Exclamation Laughing

So thanksgiving is the time to go?
I'm looking to catch my first broodstock salmon.
I was thinking 1st week of December

Yeah, the salmon should all be stocked by then. They actually should be doing some stocking about now.

I got to get a good setup. What's a good setup? Line? Rods?
Lures?
I was thinking of taking the yak out and using wild shiners I csught
