Does anyone have any thoughts of opinions on Guided trips? I'm looking for input, either good or bad, from people whom have used guide services. Something I would like to start doing is put some money aside and take one or two weekend trips a year where I can go out with a reputable guide service that will put me on fish all day each day.

I love to fish, but most of my fishing is done fishing small ponds. I Getting out on a big lake that holds huge populations of fish would be a good change of pace. Not only that, but going out on a fully loaded boat, with top notch gear, and being able to learn from a seasoned angler that fishes for a living would be great. I know these trips can be expensive, thats why I only plan on one or two of these a year, but I would like to know from people who have done something like this before, is it what you expected? Did you have the success you thought you would have? Any reccommendations for guides, lakes, species of fish?

Two trips that i would really like to take would be: 1.) Pike and or Muskie. 2.) Smallmouth 3.) Trout/Salmon. I am looking for places in or close to New England. NH, ME, VT, NY, even somewhere in MA.

I think guided trips could be a great vacation and a great learning experience that will just make me a better angler.

Some of the best fishermen and women in the state are on this site. My fishing partner has a boat and I'm sure for a reasonable price he would take you out. His business is very slow and he could use the work.
If interested PM me and I'll get him in touch with you.

I never realized how close Okeechobee was to West Palm, my brother lives out there and I go down once a twice a year and stay with him....looks like I have another reason to go down.

I have a few friends that have done the guides for salmon up in VT and NY. I think the company they did it out out of has a small window where they do muskie trips as well. If your interested let me know and I will touch base with them, at least get you the name of the company.

Most guided services in New England cater to salt water fishing. I don't know any personnelly, but you can search for guides by state at fishhound.com.

I do have a lot of contact for outfitters out of the state. Or even out of the USA. Pretty much if you have a fish in mind that you want to catch, and want to fish in the best spot in the world for it. I probably know someone that can make it happen.

Except for Texas, I'm looking for someone info myself for getting down there.
