I was coming back down the Sudbury out in Wayland about a month ago right at the edge of dark. If you have been there, you know about the old bridge up river of the launch with the crazy current. I came upon the bridge that night and saw a capsized canoe. As I get closer I see 4 people in the water, dad, mom, 2 kids. I was able to pull the mom and 2 kids into the boat while the dad flipped the canoe back over and pulled it to shore. There were no life jackets in the boat, only 2 throw cushions and needless to say, both kids didnt have one on. I'm just glad that this event didnt turn into a news story that day.

Unfortunately this underscores the importance of the work the EP does checking for PFD's.

This happens over again and people refuse to smarten up Exclamation A canoe has to be one of the most unstable vessels on the water. It's a very dangerous endeavor to take one out at night and to not have the required gear it is a recipe for disaster Exclamation
