Went out to our secret honey hole this morning around 4 am. Started working around an area that has always been reliable with my newly customized black buzzbait...GULP!!! Get it to the boat with our head lamp and it's a lunker! 5.8lbs. Hard to take pictures in the dark but best we could do.
Sun starts to come up, we go down the other end of the pond with the trusty buzzbait.....WHAM!!! Takes off running and pulling drag! Get it to the boat and I knew it was a new personal best as soon as I seen it!! 6lbs 4 oz. WOW.
An hour later, we go back to the spot I caught the first one, this time I hook up with the "Dennis Roman" spinner (don't ask)...here we go again! My brother in law is beside himself at this point!!! This one was in at 3.5! Would have bet money it was 4 plus but a little skinny.
What a freakin day. I can only wish that every avid fisherman experiences a day like this. 5lb fish are tough to come by around here and to bag a 5 and a 6 in the same day was awesome!
