This is a little modification i did. Realizing from a post a week or two ago that i wasnt the only person to have a rod fall victim to being in the wrong spot when a door shuts. My BPS megacast lost the butt end of the rod in a car door when my friends little cousin we took fishing slammed the door. I simply took an old rod that had been broken where the two pieces slid into each other and cut it down at a little below the first eye on the rod and also cut the handle right where the reel seat meets the foregrip. Then i took the rod with the broken butt end and cut up about an inch from where it was broken off and cleaned the hole at the bottom with a drill bit. Then took the rod i had cut and placed it in the bottom of the other rod when it was at the position i liked i wrapped some electrical tape around the spot to make it fit snug then siliconed around the bottom to seal it up. I found this to be a nice simple fix to a dumb problem that most of us will run into at some point.
