Anyone try Hammond Pond in the past year or two? The shore is over grown, the water is a bit murky and the traffic is a pain but there are spots that look good for bass if you can get to them. Almost looks like canoe water to me.

I tried this pond one time late last summer. Really windy day, fished for bass wuth topwater frogs and spinnerbaits from a canoe type boat, but got no hits. Very muddy pond, mostly filled with smaller sized carp. Most people who fish it are targeting carp, I honestly wouldn't fish it again unless someone posts pictures of bass coming out of this pond.

Thanks for the update. Carp I can do without. I figure they glow in the dark around here.

I remember guys pulling bass of there when I was younger, nothing giant though... A lot of catfish and bluegills too.

It's definitely changed a lot in twenty years though... Pond to swamp...

I fished Hammond Pond about 2 weeks ago. The pond usually is choked with water chestnuts and water lilies, however on my visit 2 weeks ago the water surface was vegetation free.

I did not see any signs of fish in the water.

Police may have searched this pond for that missing student which may account for the lack of weeds.

IDK
