Jonathan Avery, from Winscombe, UK Caught and landed a giant Wels Catfish from the Ebro river in Spain.

This fish are truly river monsters...they have been known to attack humans.

According to the latest edition of In-Fisheman a 260 lb Giant Catfish was caught in Krabi, Thailand and was certified as the new all-tackle world record for the species Exclamation Believe it or not it was caught on a kernel of sweet corn Exclamation Shocked

yeah i mean if you do a show over river monsters its clear that u take a doubble i beam with a steel cable, but that story sounded more like he
fished there for some small s*** and hooked the amtrak

Maybe they where targeting smaller fish but anyone fishing the Ebro will probably be using heavy tackle.

A nice selection of rigs, but...

Around here, we don't have huge catfish like that, ones that eat 6" peices of cutbait.

A simple running (carolina for you bass guys) rig will suffice on 99.9% of our waters. 3/0 Circle hook tipped with: Hot dogs, Night crawlers, 3inch cut sunfish. Just anchor it to the bottom and have fun.

I have pulled out numerous white and bullhead cats. whites up to about 8lbs and tons of 1-2lb bulls.

I am confident that many of those rigs could be adapted to saltwater applications.
