I went by today just for the hell of it. Thought the storm would have everything suspended or just not biting. I have never had a better day. No big ones, just constant bass action. Slow presentation with plastics.

Hey,
That must be one of the many names for this fish. I call it a Cusk. I ate that guy, it was delicious. I'll be trying harder for them this winter on Winnipesaukee.

Hey,
Go to the NHF&G and type in Cusk. It is related to the cod. They live in deep lakes. In the summer they will be found in the deepest parts of the lake, and taste muddy to eat. In Jan-Feb, they come in shallower waters to spawn, this is when the meat is a perfect white and tastes delicious. There are regulations to catching this fish, so maybe it's not a snake head, as you think it is.

I always thought the cusk was just salt water too! I guess there is freshwater variety as well. You learn something new each day. Good to know!

Hey all,
Maine has Cusk as well. If your into icefishing and know someone in either state, give it a try. I promise they taste awesome. That's why I want to catch a mess of them this winter.
