Looking to get a New Rod an Reel to cast lite lures , I use to use a Zebco Delta Reel that I handed it down to my 11yr old son and I have a Quantum Code Bait casting Reel That I use for heaver lures with braided line.
I do like the new Zebco Omega Pro ZO3 Reel with the 10lb test line .
Can I use a Bait casting reel with 10lb or lest line to do the same thing?

Would it be easier to change my line to like a 8-10lb mono or
flormono line so I could use 1/16,1/8,1/2 and 1/4oz lures.
What kind would be best to use?

You can use 10 lb line on a baitcaster but you will probably get alot of birds nests.

I'd just carry an extra rod with a spinning reel on it for casting light lures.

I agree with markb, for light lures like small roostertails, jerkbaits, poppers etc, go with a light spinning outfit.

Went to Bass Pro Shop and they have a nice ML pole that handles 1/16-5/8 size lures {sell ends in 9/5/11} for $30. With the Black Zebco Omega Pro ZO3 Reel. I shouldn't have a problem with lie lures.
