What do you guys use or recommend for a pitching / flipping stick fishing rod?

I've seen some rods like the Loomis series come with a Medium-Fast tip for proper lure shake and action. Also have seen a few MH with a MF tip. How much of a factor should this be when considering a rod for this application?

i know these are 2 different applications but was looking for something all purpose really.

So far I have tried to MH rods for this 1 6'6" and 1 7' 6'6" with a faster tip the 7' with stiffer one.

But I have broken done and ordered a H action 7'6" pole as both the other rods were totally under powered for the real heavy cover. imo

The pole I ordered has a a MF tip

wow have not used it yet but got the rod on Wed thing is crazy light but stiff as hell. Not what I would call a fast tip but we will see. My friend has kistler pole that cost a lot more but this feels very close to it. We will see how it preforms soon I hope lol

Go to dicks and look for the display that has a bunch of yellow rods. They are the Skeet Reese line of rods made by a company called Wright and Mcgill. They have about 9 different style rods geared for specific purposes. It says on each rod exactly what it is designed for. They have one for crankbaits, one for worm fishing, one for topwater, one for spinnerbaits and a bunch more. They do have one labeled flipping and pitching and its great. Its 8 ft with a med/fast action i believe. They are all regularly $80 but are often on sale for $59. Check them out. They are all great rods and you cant beat the price.

well i ended up going with something a little shorter since i'm a non-boater and got a 7'3" powell rod. it's down right awesome. it's really light and sensitive. it's not labelled a flippin stick but its heavy power with a fast action tip. i'd highly recommend these rods if you have the money to spend.

Those are some great looking poles, checked them out myself but out of my budget right now.Gotta love their warranty as well. You can break them over your knee in front of them and they'll give you a new one for 40$

Would you guys use your flippin/pitchin rod for fishing jigs in open water or would you use a completely different settup?
