Trolling Tips?

Hi guys,

I am new to trolling am would love some help. I hit the Concord River over the weekend and tried trolling for the first time. Other bots had moderate to good success. I trolled briefly, but really was neither confident nor successful. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what lures have been more productive than others? Is there a difference between trolling up or downstream? Follow channels or just change direction?
