I saw that kid that day, it was a big fish but not sure about the 8lbs printed in the story, looked more like high 6lbs to me. Also he caught it off the back side of the dam, not in the lake but they released it on the right side. The lunker must of got pulled over the spillway in one of those big rains we've had.
