Ok, so I've gravitated towards soft sided tackle bags since they first came out some 30 years ago. While I do see some improvements here and there, they still have two major flaws (that may even be worsening.)
1) Tight fit. So if a bag is designed to take say, 4, 3600 box's, why does it take a shoe horn and a pound of butter to stuff those 4 box's in there at once. Couldn't they leave an extra 3/8" play in the main compartment so reloading the bag is a one hand operation with a nice easy fit?
2) So while materials the bags are made of have improved, why is it that every bag out there (that I can find) has exposed zippers on the outside pockets that are completely unprotected from the elements. ( Read: if I fish in the rain, everything in those pockets is going to get soaked!) Come on guys! The backpacking industry figured this out 15 years ago.
So all that said, if I have missed the "ultimate user friendly tackle bag series", somebody PLEASE let me know. It shouldn't be this hard.
