I have been brainstorming this all winter, so tell me what you think.
Last year I applied a noodle rod to my shad fishing. What a Blast!
light line on a long rod presenting small jigs to shad is fantastic.
So I was wondering since the merrimack in my area is full of snags, and seeing how shad fishing is finding the correct depth and hangout of the shad is key. I think a shad dart at a desired depth beneath a slipbobber would work great. I think the current would give the dart great movement as the float dances in the current. Plus once i find the depth of the shad I can make sure that my dart gets to them with the correct amount of weight and I would not get snagged as much since the slip bobber wont let the dart hit the river bottom.
I am going to try it out and I will post my results.
