I have had a number of very good trips to the A1 site this season. I went a few weeks ago and got nothing but a real small LMB on a top water fishing from the island to the remote areas of the pond among the stumps. The others on the water that day only caught fish in the front section of the pond in the deep weeds. With the water level very low and still warm I would guess that the fish are still in the heavy weeded areas in the front section of the pond before you get to the 1st island. With the water starting to cool a bit, and if we ever get any rain to raise the water level, the fishing might improve. With cooler water and hopefully some rain to raise the water level do the fish migrate back to the areas from the islands to the back end of the pond among the stumps and timber? Any suggestions on how and where to fish this site once the water cools and hopefully some rain? Big worms, senkos, and top water worked well in the summer months among the stumps.

I've had the same problem there recently. Lots of small LMBs, but last year I had several 5's from A-1. I'm not sure if the fishing pressure has gone up, but I was there on a random Wednesday midday and saw about 4-5 other boats on the water, which was surprising.

On a related note, has anyone caught any Pike at A-1 in recent years? I've only taken pickerel.

its surprising when there are less than 4-5 boats there during the week. I was there friday before july 4th and counted 17. but the average is about 5 weekdays when I go.

have you been catching the small in the stump/timber area or in the area before the first island in the heavy weeds?

Mostly in that weed area before the island

thanks for the update. I caught a few pickerel this season, nothing big though. the ones I don't catch seem to bite half of my worm off. never saw a pike come out of there, but other have told me that they have caught them there in years past.
