Just curious where guys prefer launching kayaks at The Nip, at the boatramp on Lakeside Drive or the cartopper access on Chace Road???

I've never been to the cartopper access but I've found the boat ramp to be very convenient for small boats in general. If it's inconvenient for a yak as far as getting in there's also a small beach next to the ramp that isn't as steep that you can launch from.

I always launch my yak at cartopper access because it gets you closer too the back of the pond without the paddling.

I haven't had the yak out there a good while, but always launched at the ramp. That's because I never knew how to access the other area, though.

The Access on Chase Road?? Does that go into a gated area??

I've never seen the gate closed, its Wildlife Management area and theres an occupied house after the gate so I don't think they can lock it. Its about a 25yard flat walk to a beach from where you park.

Would that be this area??

I have been to quite a few of the Northern Lakes and Ponds, would love to get into some of the Southern ones too.

I get Error Message when I try to see that. It's the Harry C Darling Wildlife Management Area(former Black Mallard Club) take rte.104 past Lakeside Drive, take right on East Street, take right onto Elm Street, right onto Chace Road follow til it turns to dirt and ends at rocks, path to beach is on the right.

Spot burning! Bound to piss someone off! Laughing

With the boom in Kayaking it is getting difficult to launch trailered boats in many places because all the spots for trailers are filled with cars without trailers !!! Most people obey the signs but there are the few that really dont care and just want to get on the water no matter what . I have seen people turn around and have to leave because of this issue ...

If I pull up to a launch area and all the big spots are taken up by cars, I'm calling the cops. Screw that.

I like both. Chase road if it's windy, cuz it gets u right to the back, but the boat ramp is more convenience cuz it's easier in and out. I hope with the new house they are building at the end of chase road down the dirt path, nothing changes.
