I got the saltwater bug pretty hard over the last 2 years and my freshwater efforts have suffered. I have plenty of trips on the docket scheduled for this season for the ocean, but I want to spend Spring on the local places fresh.
Here is a list of what I am looking at for options over next 3 weeks, please offer advice on what would be worthwhile or best opportunity for better fishing.
VERY Local (withing a few miles, can use kayak):
- Freeman Lake
- Flint Pond (Tyngsboro)
- Merrimack River (Chelmsford boat launch, or shore anywhere from tyngsboro to lowell)
A bit of travel, all day events:
- Wachusett Res
- Quabbin Res
Ponds/Lakes I want to try:
- Buckmaster in Westwood
- Spot Pond in Stoneham (I have to rent a kayak there right?)
- Others by suggestion
Just looking for feedback. I know this place guards fishing spots like dragon eggs but I am not looking for your honey hole nor trying to blow a spot up. I think anyone here not under age 20 can agree Massachusetts is a tough freshwater fishing state.
If you are looking for a buddy over next 3 weeks for any trip I promise to wear a blindfold while going to spot and pay for gas for boat if I can tag along. Just wanna go fishing.
