the drop shot is pretty versatile. find some stuff by aaron marten's for different rigs and pointers.

I find it to be a over rated technique and a PIA. When I actually do catch a fish on it I spend the next 5 min or so untangling the drop line. Not to mention all tlhe thrown baits. Not a big fan Exclamation Laughing

Hooked monster today on it!

Broke it off! Fishing a fav pond! Tossed it to a tree on shore with a strep drop off! Bam! Fought it for a while but it was going to trees!
Try to turn it but line broke!

Not trying to be a db but you must not be doing it correctly? You shouldn't get tangled line or have baits thrown often. It's not overrated. It catches both numbers and big fish especially in deep water.

Very interested in trying out this technique. Have to get me some rigs and have at it.

Tie your own rigs! Vmc spinshot or small size 1 hook! Tied with palomar knot! Run tag line threw eye
Of hook after knot is tied!

Weight on botom of the rig

Meant getting finesse baits drop shot weight n hook. Tomp showed me his set up with a robo worm he uses at the chu.

I've also been trying this technique with no success, until this last weekend at Singletary. Used a VMC spinshot hook & drop shot weight. Was riding on the back of the boat & seeing a lot of fish under boat so, I gave it try & BINGO got my first dropshot fish! It was like playing a video game. But, all it takes is one fish to gain confidence & that I think is the biggest key!
