Hello,

Hopefully, sooner or later, it'll be fishing time again.

Pushing 80 now (sure does catch up with you), and find it hard to travel any substantial distances.
Live in Sudbury.

Any thoughts re local Ponds or areas around Sudbury that I should consider ?

Really like areas that are "scenic" and not right next to a major road, etc.

What about Heard Pond in Wayland ?
Worthwhile ?
If so, where is a good spot to park, and/or access ?

Used to love the Quabbin, but a bit too far for me to drive to now.

Other thoughts on would be most appreciated.

Much thanks,
Bob

Heard Pond has plenty of parking and shoreline access on Pellham Island Road and the fishing is decent.

Dug Pond in Natick has a boat ramp with some open shoreline on Windsor Ave.

Sudbury Res is shore fishing only and has some access points, but they are a little bit of a walk through the woods so it may not be what your looking for.

If you are in Sudbury you are just a stones throw from
White's Pond and Walden pond both are excellent from shore line.
Best times are early am for both White's you will get a mix trout and bass mostly clones 1 1/2 to 2 lbs but fun as hell on a fly rod.
Walden trout is the main stay there.
