Just made myself a swimbait box, I used a Rubbermaid plastic storage box, and 1/4 inch dowels. It took me a few tries to get it right as simple as it is. I originally used this Industrial Adhesive I found at a local hardware store that said it usable on most plastics. But that didn't hold at all, I think I didn't account for the flex of the plastic, I put about 4-5 swimbaits on one dowel after I had glued them to the box and the dowel gave way and collapsed. So I decided to use 1/2 inch Stainless screws instead. Anyone else have a similar set up to this? If not, what's your preferred method of storage for big baits? I don't have a bass boat or a lot of room at home for storage, so I have to make due with what I can Jerry rig or have at hand.
No, nothing as far as hooks getting caught up with each other, I only have like 4-5 Swimbaits that have trebles anyway. Most of my Swimbaits are top hook only. If I get anymore with trebles or outfit my top hooks with bottom stinger trebles, then I'll probably definitely do some sort of hook keeper.
excellent idea bro! Yeah I don't have a boat either, and minimal storage space at my apartment. I saw something similar to that in BAM magazine, except they fastened each individual swimbait to the lid of the box and they hung from that. I personally like your idea much better.
I know rite, spinner baits can be a pain in the ass to store. even actual spinnerbait boxes like you said really don't cut down on the space they take up. Yeah I have two of those books and I carry around like 40 spinnerbaits and they barely take up any room in my bag.
