I am an inexperienced angler who lives in Boston. I have some experience with salt (mostly blues and the occasional striper trip) but only recently picked up freshwater. I went and bought some senkos, hauled in some 5-6lb largemouths and have been addicted ever since.

What is the latest one can fish for largemouth into the Fall? At what point does the bite stop unless you want to ice fish? Where can someone go to target smallmouth in the Boston area? I have been going to Blue Hills Reservior and Ponkapoag Pond and doing really well (at least by my standards).

Anyone fish the Neponset river? tactics, bait etc. (for blues and stripers)

October is one of my favorite months for bass fishing. The bite will slow down as we get later into fall and the water turns over, but the bite never stops completely. The fish still need to eat! I have had some really good days during the January thaw during mild winters. It all comes down to being able to brave the elements!
