Reel repair question

I took apart an old quantam reel that needed to be fixed. A screw was loose causing the reel to jam. When I took it apart the small piece in the picture fell out. Not sure where it goes? Any suggestions?

Kman. It's a quantam energy e5-2. It was made in 1994 so most of the writing is worn off. If you can figure it out ill get you a case of beer!!

I think it may be # 45 worm shaft retainer
