The first is a wild shiner from a pond in Dedham. I scooped him with my net. I don't think it's a spottail, as there isn't a spot on the tail lol.

The second, striped fish, was caught in Buzzards bay by my friend and his nephew groundfishing. They caught a lot of scup, seabass, a couple dogfish, and this mystery fish... looks kind of tropical...

It looks like a pinfish. I lived in south florida for a while and would catch pinfish around the coastal inlets. They are fantastic live bait for tarpon or big snook. Tough to tell from the photo the stripe pattern looks right.

Thanks. You're the 2nd reply and both said pin fish.

I didn't get any bites on that shiner... I'll hit this ithycalogy catalog hopefully...
