Really love those little crawfish, when I was in Arizona, there are many places can catch a lot of Crawfishs. I try to google some information about crawfish in MA, but the only clear answer I found was in Walden pond, anybody know if there really have some crawfish or not? Smile
Thanks!

Most every pond stream Bog has crawfish in them. Almost every tourney I find some crawfish parts spit up in my livewell. just need to set a trap they are very abundant here. I keep saying every year I will invest in a good trap or make some home made traps to set at ponds before I fish. Not for bait but to get a look at the coloring to try match with jig and trailer. Maybe little blue or red or orange maybe bright maybe natural. Do they change during the season on same body of water do they change in different parts of the same lake. be interesting information.

Yes, they change color. I am suprised to hear you see crawdad parts spit up. They are not nearly as abundant in MA as they are a little further south (AZ and OK for sure).

If you are finding them always at tourney spots, that's probably a big factor in making them tourney spots. I fish quite a few ponds and bogs... I have seen them only one place in New England, and that was one of the Sudbury reservoirs on the Framingham/Sudbury line.
I found a shedded shell and two shedded claws.

If they are around anywhere, you can easily see them and there remnants anywhere in the shallows where you would see juvenile fish, frogs, tadpoles, etc. I fished for them like crazy as a kid too...

Also, they were introduced to parts of the Charles River as food for humans and sportfish in the late 1800s. They didn't establish.

They are certainly around. Most of the ponds/bogs around here have a muck bottom which isnt great for craw. Head down the cape or anywhere with a sandy or rocky bottom you will find them everywhere. I used to catch them by the dozens as a kid up at Winni.
