Is there a big walleye population in MA? Where can you find them?

Both the Merrimack and Connecticut rivers have decent walleye population. But I have the best luck on the Connecticut river.

Thanks. Also. Around this time of the year i heard they are pretty active is that true? And do they stay deep or are they closer to shore?

During the spring is when walleye spawn and it is the best time of the year to catch one. I catch them anywhere from 15-20 feet this time of the year.
