Making the best of a work trip down to Oklahoma City this spring, and a coworker has an 8-acre man-made pond that he stocked w/Florida strain Largemouth and F1 Tiger bass in 2008. He has a couple kayaks and a bass boat that he offered (I took one of the kayaks without a second thought). Fishing's been hampered by fronts that have hit every 3 days or so, keeping the water temps down. On 2/22, I hit my new pb (6lb 2oz, just shy of 22") on a lipless crank around noon. Weather's looking up this week, and he's pulled three 8lb+ fish out of here without fishing this early in the year before, so I may have a chance to top this piggy soon.
Apologies for pix, they're from my craptacular cell phone and (figures) I was alone when I caught her.

Thanks! (Although what I'm really thankful for is that I got here before the rattlers are out and about on his property!)
Could anyone kindly tell me how I can link my pics I just posted to this thread?

Thanks Sam. Here's the pix from that day. Bite started picking up again yesterday and more favorable conditions today (Just shy of 80 and windy). Then a 25 degree drop for tomorrow. Fishing until dark tonight.

nice pictures. to actually insert the pics themselves into the post you need to add the photo URL like this. no big deal though.

Lunker count between myself and my coworker (owner of this 8-acre honey-hole)...

6lb-2oz on Feb 22 (me)
7-5 AND 4-0 on Mar 15 (both him)
8-4 (me) and 6-8 (him) on Mar 18.

This pond is insane.

Thanks! This place is a blast, but I'll be happy to get back to some familiar (hopefully thawed) waters in MA soon.

Nice pictures. Crazy howany big ones are in that small pond. What forage is in there? Bluegill and craws?

Thanks Sam!
Got the brief history of this pond a couple days ago:
2005: Dam (in background of pix) erected, timber felled everywhere and a couple hundred "root balls", along with 30 railroad battery boxes (like coffins) and misc. debris (grill, file cabinet, couple brick chimneys) tossed in for cover. Small creek flooded the valley.
2006: Crawfish, Fathead minnows & Bluegills stocked
2007: Bluegills, Threadfin Shad & Flathead Cats stocked
2008: Bluegills, about 1000 FL strain LMB fingerlings, & around 350 Tiger LMB fingerlings stocked.
2010 or 2011: Discovery that Crappie somehow got in.
