st croix tidemaster médium heavy help

the GF just bought me a st croix mh tide master 7' rod.

Need help with a reel and line to add for stripers please. Im new to stripers and don't want to let the wifey down.

also any baits i should throw on this would be appreciated.

Great rod! I'd try a shimano stradic 5000 on it - might want to try one on it before buying it though to make sure it balances right, I think it will.

Lures, diawa sp minnows, buck tails, slugs, kastmasters, and some top waters should be good to get you started. Stick with lures that fall within the weight rating of the rod, same with the line. You've got some time to get ready before the stripers get back up here to get what you need.

yes, i been mainly checking out a bunch of plugs and bucktail jigs. Cant wait for the striper blitz at joppa flats.
