Damaged Drain Plug Tube

Last few times out, my boat has slowly taken on water. Nothing catastrophic but I'd prefer not to. So the tube that the drain plug goes into is bent. I've read some ideas online ranging from cut it out and weld in a new one to seal the tube with RTV and cut it out when you need to drain. Has anybody else had this problem? Any ideas on a fix? It is a 12' aluminum Jon.

Have you tried putting the plug on the other side? If you normally plug it on the outside, try plugging from the inside
