techniques when using jointed deep jerkbait and slashbait?

Should you use the same technique that you use with a typical jerkbait for a slashbait (xrap deep diving) and jointed jerk (deep husky jerk) ?

I agree. I always twitch and push the rod tip away from me right after the twitch
