Do the little ones bite first?

I have caught no less than 20 .5-1 lbers in the last 2 days!
Is this because there are more of them? Or do the young ones start biting at lower temps?

Could just be the males moving up during prespawn, they are generally smaller in size

Fished Oldhams this morning. Must have caught a dozen buck bass all around a lb. and missed at least that many. They are super aggressive right now. The larger bass are feasting on herring, the pond is thick with them. I also saw a few bass on beds so it appears to be happening!

I was fishing pretty deep. Had about 12-14 inches between the weight and worm/fish.
