I'm looking for something I can go flounder and stripper fishing with in the harbor as well as take on the pond. Any advice is appreciated. 10 or 12 foot? Sit in or on?

Thanks ahead of time.

I don't have much Saltwater Kayaking experience but everything I read says the longer the better. I would recommend 12 ft as a good size for both ponds and the harbor. I prefer Sit-On myself and then in the harbor you don't have to worry as much about using a Bilge since you'd have scupper holes.

I have a Jackson Cuda 12 and love it. I think it would do OK in the harbor as well.

I'm sure there are others here who will provide better info like John (BlooMagoo).

Longer will track better and take chop better. Sit on top is way more user friendly. Most serious saltwater kayak guys fish out of a sit on top.

Thanks guys. I think that's the way to go. 12 foot sit on top.

Try before you buy.

If you plan to do salt then definitely go with a sit on top. I have a 13 ft Ascend that works great. Sit in styles are bad news if you tip.
