Hey all, looking for advice. Got a free pass from the wifey to go kill some fish. I want to try the wachusettes in the am. This will be my first time out and I dont want to get skunked. What should I be prepared for? Do I need a park permit? What gate is best to access with my 6 year-old? I have a few med-light action rods and will still fishing for my son and will try using spoons or kastmasters.

Fish to Stone Church area, plenty of room and plenty of water. You can get out of the wind over there. Shinners and crawlers will get you some fish, Lakers are due to come back in and with the crawlers, you might get a big White Perch. Kastmasta might get you a Brown or maybe a Salmon. Gonna be cold tonight, so they may be up on top early.. Great luck to you nad your son. No park permit but have you fishing lincese, they will check you, and no going in the water and no lead weights..

Well, that was a bust. Took the kids to Old stone church had a few nibbles but nothing significant. My son's pole manage to catch a small fish? I hooked it with a larger hook and sent it back out to see if anything bigger was out there...nada.

Saw some fish surfacing but none wanted to hit my lures. I may need to go scouting without the kids next time.

when do the laker bite get hot again? i'm assuming with the cooler weather they should roam near the shore early morning or in the evening.

this weather is not helping for the Lakers! looks like it be Late Oct before it changes enough, great for smalies, catch your bait now for the Nov rush. Turkey Soot should be great this year. Final major of the year. Woooo
