Advice needed for fishing a 4" soft plastic swimbait

I got some 4" baby bass 4' Fishbelly Kick-S Shad in my latest Tackle Grab. They look awesome, but I'm not quite sure how I should fish them.

I have some 1/4oz lead free swim bait hooks, but they seem way too big.

I could order some 1/8 oz lead free swim bait hooks, but I'm afraid they will be too big too, and shipping can get understandably expensive.

I could fish a bare hook, but I don't know if they'll swim right side up.

I could add some lead free solder to a bare hook, but that seems like a lot trouble.

Then again I could quit my over-thinking and bitching and just go fish them.

No expert, but a 4/0 swimbait hook should do it.

If you are fishing a weedy area, you could use a screw lock weighted swim bait hook (4/0). If weeds are not a problem the 1/4 or 1/8 oz. jigheads will work fine with the exposed hook. Just remember to work them fast, too slow and the tail will not paddle and the bait rolls!

You could always fish em weightless with a 4/0 Ewg worm hook gives it some erratic presentation and they fall slow fun to watch too,

If you put it on a 1/8 oz ballhead grub hook it will free swim correctly and produce well on a slow and steady retrieve.

Stratos, thank you in particular for going to the trouble of making the picture. May I ask what size hook it is, and how much it weighs? Do you know the make and model?

Patrick. I just did a google image search of "swimbait hooks" and that image was there. It looks to be either a 3/0 or 4/0 and Id say 1/4 or 3/8th oz in weight.
