I have been fishing a lot lately in the Dedham Norwood Westwood area and have been getting skunked every time. I don't know what's going on. Ay good shore fishing places within 30 min of Dedham? Auburn dale park in Waltham looks pretty good. I have been trying all different baits. Crank baits, stick baits, soft plastics and more. What's working for the bass right now? Fish deep and through the weeds and muck? Thanks for the tips!

At least I'm not the only one. Man it's been tough out there. I fish on the South Shore (Pembroke, Halifax, Plymouth, Hanson). In most places there has been tons of development and there are houses all along the shore. You are lucky to find a half way decent spot that is not the boat launch. It's so frustrating to get my tired behind up at 5 and to come home 3 hours later essentially empty handed.

I just went to Little Pond in Plymouth on Saturday. Found some nice spots all along the shore. For my efforts, I caught 2 sunfish and 1 tiny LMB. I need a boat.

By the way... I announced to my wife that I quit. Rolling Eyes

Shore fishing is tough right now unless you have access to deeper water. Get out early in the a.m. or around sunset. After the sun gets up the fish will move out to deeper water unless the pond has a lot of shoreline cover Exclamation Get a kayak Exclamation

If you don't have access to deep water, you can always pitch and flip under the trees along a shoreline. There are bound to be some bass under there. Probably not going to catch any lunkers, but at least its something.

Today being cloudy would be a good day to try shore fishing. The bass are more active and less spooked in shallow water. Take a bag of plastics a pair of water sandels or old sneakers and walk around in the water throwing weightless plastics in front of cover...

Tight lines!

I had back to back skunks for first time I can remember had my chances both times had few bites and even had fish on but missed the hook up. Frogs in the muck will get u some heart pounding strikes but hook set is tough. Caught a bass after sun down last night to break the skunk string on last cast. Unless it is over cast sundown or sun up. The dog days r here.
