Just got back from fishing Spy. It was a tough bite out there. Also very little weed left. It just amazes me that the people that live around Spy pond want to save the earth but it's OK to add herbicide to the pond for aesthetics only. They should have to drink the water and see how they like it.
I was there yesterday from 7:30 to 1, and till about noon I found the bite pretty crappy. I was hoping to fish some grass but it was gone. Me and the other boats were like a merry-go-round going around the shore hitting all the obvious stuff. Got a few rats and on the way back to the ramp I went to hit my "secret middle of the lake spot", and ended up wacking them. 13 fish in a hour all 2 and 3's all in about a 100 yard stretch. Felt like every fish in the lake was there. Had a 6-7lber jump me off, still biter about that one. I found some grass that was sloping into deep water, that seemed to be the key.
