Thanks for the info!

I have grown up fishing Harold Parker. Fields pond is terrible fishing. I fish Stearns Pond with my kids as soon as it is open water, and kill pickerel. Can catch 20 or more on a Rapala floating minnow or a spinner bait. We catch trout in Berry Pond every year, but I only fish Harold Parker for a change of scenery and out of habit. Not the best fishing in the area.

It's a decent spot for trout and largemouth and some smallies. If you're a fan of pickerel - that's a good spot - especially at night. Had my share of hit or misses on that water, which can be a little rough at moments especially for a kayak.

You talking about Horn pond?

Kman,

Sorry I was not clear since we were speaking of multiple waters.
I was speaking specifically of Horn Pond. My buddy lives not far from there and we have hit it a few times.

I have never seen a smallie at Horn. Not saying you're wrong just saying in 30 years fishing there I have never seen one.

Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing. No smallies in there that I have ever been aware of.

Hey pocket and kman,

So as part of the little competition I have with my buddy Tom, we keep a log of catches when we were out together. Based on my little scorecard ( a lot like keeping golf stubs) on Sunday, June 9 caught a smally in Horn and on Sunday Sept. 16 hit another. Tom also hit a smally on the 16th. So I won’t say an abundance, but they’re there.

I notice that ccplus2 on this forum/board identified smallies at Horn (http://www.mafishfinder.com/horn-pond-5497-trip.html ). It’s not uncommon to hit water repeatedly and never know or be surprised one day by a catch. I have a pond down the street form the house I been hitting for 3 years since moving here and not until late September did I come to find it had pickerel. I always expected it but never saw it. This is a place I go day and night. One of the joys of fishing for me.

the trip you refer to, the guy said he caught a smallie and is holding a largemouth. Look at my review of that trip from last year.
