why don'y you guys look at lake cochituate in natick ma. nice launch, plenty of land access and a place to hang after. not to far from the mass pike, so 128 north or south to I90 then rte 30 for like 15 minutes. nice peace of water.
any thoughts?[/url]

Over 600 acres, that'a a big-ass place. Never been there, but I'm game. I would probably stay out of the middle on a windy day, my john boat wouldn't be safe out there. ( could get swamped )

yeah no doubt, i'm with ya, i like the fishing the structure closer to shore anyway. especially there.

if a few more guys think they would like to come, please think about this place. i think it could be productive, and a blast. i'm more about meeting new people and learning new skills from other anglers. and of course having a few laughs. i know myself, willuvs2fish and lets see, definatly 5 boats so far. so ten bucks a head, great time.

my suggestion as far as a little tourney. not every one has a live well for fish. so what i would do the morning of, is have some business card size name and date cards. MA Fish Finder 2009 Tourney, with the date on it, and maybe even peoples names on them. that way when you catch a fish you can take a timed stamped photo so to speak, with the card and name on it and every one can release right away. you would need a digital scale to weigh it. so maybe one picture of the just the fish and date card and an other with all three, or whatever we can figure that out later. the fish on the scale showing the weight and the card with the date on it in the backround.

did i make any sense or am i rambling like an idiot, lol.

thoughts?

Makes perfect sense to me... Johnny. For some of the guys that have not been in a tourny before. This would be a great time for them... And for those who have been in one....Wellllll got to be less pressure.... 10 a head no one seems to be complaing about that...I no I,m not....
Stopped @ couchituate after Lake boone this afternoon.. and yea it was windy out there..We dont wanna see doughay swamped......or anyone

Cochit isn't a bad choice. You can fish parts from shore, and there's plenty of water to fish with a small boat. It'll be a good motivator to get a roofrack and get the Jon boat ready to go. If the weather acts up, it'll be pretty damn rough, though.

Actually, Sunday would be better for me as I work on Saturday. I could probably get Saturday off if I had to, but I would loose money.

Im all for Cochtituate, though at that point in the season, Im sure we will all have to pay a ramp fee, or a park fee. Not a huge deal, but something to keep in mind.

john, maybe you and i can work on that part of it together. you seem to be more familar with that place. would you find out for me the cost to do so, and let me know. most people with smaller boats will be able to launch elsewhere after we all check in. so that won't be that big of a deal. also i need to find out about using a piece of that picnic area for afterwards as well. any thoughts on that.
thanks bro

Awesome feedback so far,I think we should get a general idea of who is were and how far people are willing to travel,And get a total number of boats, and maybe the guy's without boats can fish with the ones who do,if they have the room for people.I like the idea of Long Pond in lakeville, but i'm up for Any pond, except the Nip,don't care for that place, the water looks like tranny fluid, sort of a red tinge to it.But anyway,Still think it's a good idea to try to get this going,I know i tried to get it going with MikeyC but, started the idea too late,So hopefully we can get a date, pond, committed people to do this,I'm dying to get on a boat down here on the Cape, some great ponds,I wish my boat wasn't up in Maine, don't know when i will have it back.So let's get this going,

Ok forget it June 14! HAHA! I'm in!!!! I'm going to need a partner with a boat. I cant chance throwing a crawdad ontop of my car an driving to the northshore or anywhere else for that matter. I got another suggestion for you guys if you want it. Long Pond Plymouth. 60 hp max on engines plenty of parking. One of the best maintained boat ramps in the state. Its known as a Trout fishery, but their is also alot of big bass in there. Smallies and LM. It gets so much trout pressure that the bass are left alone. Theres some big trout eaters in there. I believe the last certified 10lber was caught there a few years back.
