Im new to the site. Me and Biggz53 fished the cartop bass tourney last sunday on Dudley (Team Pound Town, the canoe guys). I cant wait to fish another one, although my back and knees are still recovering from sitting in a canoe for 8 hours. Im getting out striper fishing this weekend and will post pictures.

it was great, until chris dropped the fish that would of put us in the money with less then 30 minutes left.............
We've had that happen to us (Northshore) in the past. Last year we were at a cartopper and lost a 3 lb'er at minimum, as we were lipping it into the boat. We never used to carry a net and started to after that. Probably not the same circumstances, but kinda similar. In that particular case, we still had 3 other big fish already on board and won that tourney regardless (No Shawn, not Oldham. We won a couple last year so get over it brother
), so we were lucky. We've also had fish jump out of the live well while checking it, until we remedied that by using a rope stringer and tying it to the cooler handle outside, just in case.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and hopefully we've learned from our mistakes.

haha yup my first buy before the next cartopper will be a net...we missed the money by .02 pounds so it was quite frustrating. Our coolers lid for the livewell has the hinges broken so we had fish knocking the lid off all day (couple times we say the head of the fish up over the edge almost getting out) and had to tie it off with extra line....ill be bringing a bungee next as well.
